Sarojini Naidu was a bright student from her childhood. She completed her 12th at an early age and then was also popular then because of her power called “Lady of the Lake” which she wrote at the age of 13.

When she met Gandhiji for the first time in the year 1914 in England she had already dedicated herself to the county. She then earned the second woman personality in Indian National Congress in the year 1925 and then head to South Africa for representing India in the year 1932
She had won many nobel prizes and great appreciation from well-known people and Kaiser-i-Hind is one of her great rewards for the efforts that she had put during the plague epidemic in India.
Her unfortunate demise happened in the year 1949 because of a serious heart attack when she was in her office in Lucknow.

In the year 1942, when Gandhiji started the Quit India Movement, Sarojini Naidu was kept in jail for 21 months.

Initially, he was so fascinated with the work that he was hoping to become a mathematician. But when she had created a Persian play which he sent to the college of the Nizam, people were so impressed to see her talent that they have the scholarship to study abroad too.
Further, she did her studies from the king’s college in London and then she returned to India where she was shocked to see the partition which Lord Curzon had done with Bengal. It is then she decided to move her education to the right use and then joined Gopal Krishna Gokhale who was already a freedom fighter who advised her to use her words of poetry to encourage the masses and be part of the freedom fighting.
With Annie Besant, she started the Women’s India Association in the year 1917. She was then known to be already a champion for many things. Through this association, she represented the issues women have been facing and made huge changes in Indian society about women empowerment.
In the year 1940 when she wrote on politics, it was more towards her contribution to the betterment of social development and women empowerment. She had done quite a lot in that time as compared to any other social worker must have done.

When she led the Quit India Movement and the Civil Disobedience Movement surely proved to be a great contribution to society. No doubt that the entire world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 08 as a commemoration for the March 1911.
