1. Instinctive parenting
These are the parents who teach their children what they know and parent in the way they were parented by their mother, father, or grandparents. They use the old method of parenting or personal style of parenting.
2. Attachment parenting
This style of parents has its main aim in building up a strong and emotional relationship between the parent and a child. The parent who adopts this parenting style is likely to respond to their child’s needs and are sensitive and emotional with their children all the time. They believe in strong attachment with a child which helps a child to become a more independent and secure person.
3. Helicopter parenting
The parents who are involved in this parenting style or who adopted this style often interfere in their child’s lives. Too much of this style will make children more dependent on their parent’s money, advice and time.
4. Authoritative parenting
The parent with an authoritative parenting style expects a lot from their children. They make strict rules and guidelines for their children, and wanted it to be followed by their children and if they fail to follow their rules then they are on to punish them. this parenting style is more on punishment rather than supporting their children.
5. Permissive parenting
The permissive parenting style is more lenient among all. The parents with the permissive parenting style are more friends with their children than a parent. They have relatively low expectations than other parenting styles. They teach their children discipline.
These are the parenting styles adopted by the parents of today’s generation.
