Bollywood undoubtedly leaves an imprint in our hearts. Now this imprint could be in the following forms:
- Making totally out of the box kind of movie
- Making the most boring movie
- Forming characters we love
- Forming characters we hate and then
- Forming characters that inspire us.
Now the last point is the motive of this article (As the title says “Inspiring characters”). To be honest, anything can inspire you, from a child to an old man, from movies to its characters. Recently, movie makers are focusing on making female characters which inspire us. So let’s recall them and get inspired once again.
- Rani – Queen
After getting dumped a night before her marriage from her would be husband, Rani decides to go on her pre-booked honeymoon alone. By the end, this character shows that sometimes the reality slaps like the worst nightmare coming true but that is only for our good.
- Naina- Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
A Nerd whose life revolved around books and never knew what it feels like chilling with friends suddenly decides to go on a trip with 15 stranger (that requires guts!) So from Naina we can learn that frustrations can lead you to do something you never expected and sometimes we just need to adjust our perspective toward how we see our self.
- Shashi -English Vinglish
We live in a society which measures intelligence by how someone speaks English, that is a harsh reality. Shashi being a victim of this harsh reality lost her respect in her family just because she could not speak English. We all know the story Shashi flew to New York and there she took an English speaking course in order to gain respect back. So Shashi t=showed us that its never to late to learn something.
- Veera Tripathi- Highway
Alia faces a lot of abuse in her own family, she feels suffocated being with her own family and finds liberty while being kidnapped. HEr character showed that its okay to stand against wrong even if that means standing against your own family. - Aditi – Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
You would be thinking about how she is an inspiration? Well, Aditi was in love with Avi but he never treated her more than his best friend and then she decides to get married to Taran. She inspired us by letting go the love of her life, how many can do that.
These characters are indeed an inspiration in their own way, I hope you all agree with me too. I am eagerly waiting for more female inspirations like them.
