| Kiran Bedi was born into a Sikh family to open-minded and liberal parents. |
| Her father was a textile businessman and grown up into a family where Sikh-religion was followed along with Hindu culture too. |
| Her father was an active tennis player and she gradually got interested in this sport after getting influenced by her father. She started playing tennis at the age of 9 and took participate in tennis championship at the national level. |
