Dry skin is a common condition with many causes. Dry skin is an uncomfortable condition marked by scaling, itching, and cracking. It can occur for a variety of reasons; the main reason could be environmental factors that remove moisture from the skin.
Here are some easy ways by which you can get rid of dry skin in the winter:
- Coconut Oil
Take some virgin coconut oil and apply on your dry skin and do gentle massage for a minute. It will get absorbed by your skin. It contains healthy fatty acids that replenish the skin’s lessened fatty acid reserve. - Milk
Take some drop of milk and do massage with milk on your dry skin for 2-3 minutes. Milk is soothing and its lactic acid is great for the skin. Milk has anti-inflammatory properties that often take the itch away. - Petroleum jelly
Petroleum jelly products can heal skin in older adults. Petroleum jelly, also known as mineral oil, covers the skin in a protective layer. It traps moisture underneath. This helps heal dry, irritated skin patches. - Olive Oil and lavender oil
Mix 2-3 drop of lavender oil with the 2-3 drop of olive oil and massage on your dry skin with these oil mixture. These both oils are perfect as your skin will absorb what it needs and leave a protecting, hydrating layer after you rinse it off. - Honey and olive oil
Mix a 3-4 droop of honey with a 2-3 drop of olive oil and squeeze of some drop of lemon juice too. Apply this lotion to dry areas and let sit for 20 minutes. Wipe off with a warm washcloth. Honey, being rich in antioxidants improves moisture levels of the skin and nourishes damaged skin. - Vitamin E capsules
Vitamin E works like magic for your skin. Vitamin E capsules are full of excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties which make it an excellent remedy for skin and hair problems. Rub at least one capsule daily around your eyes and face for glowing skin. If you are suffering from extremely dry skin, eczema or psoriasis then using vitamin E from capsules will be a good choice for you. - Mustard oil
Take some drops of light warm mustard oil in between your fingertips and apply on all over your dry patches and leave it on overnight. The fats present in mustard oil hydrate and nourish the skin, making it soft.
