Saree is a symbol of Indian culture for the whole world. When it comes to traditional look the first thing which strikes our mind is saree. Over the years many modern elements have been blended in saree styling that made saree look both stylish and traditional. From traditional day in office to a marriage ceremony, we often choose saree to flaunt glamour. Many ladies, however, avoid wearing it due to fear of opening or any other malfunction. - Choose an apt petticoat:
Petticoat is very decisive in defining the overall saree look. The right petticoat not only gives the right shape to the lower part, but also plays an important role in making the saree fit properly. If you are carrying a satin petticoat with a silk saree, then your saree will not tie properly. So choose a petticoat according to your saree. Wear a cotton petticoat with cotton and handloom sarees. Choose satin with georgette and chiffon sarees. Go for net and lace sarees with embroidered petticoats.
- Iron the saree before draping:

Keep in mind one thing that even if your saree is not ironed properly, you will not be able to tie saree properly. Always iron the saree before wearing it and keep it aside in the hanger. If the saree is ironed, it becomes very easy to manage it.
- Wear footwear before wearing:
There is an important thumb rule of wearing saree. Before wearing a saree, you must wear your footwear. Whether you are wearing heels or simple flats, wearing it before draping the saree makes task easier for you. When you wear a saree after wearing heels, you get an idea of how high to keep the sari. If the level of the sari is right then you will be able to move around easily.
- Tie at right level:
Before making pleats below your navel, make sure that your crease is at the right level. It is very important to set it properly and in the right place for it to look appropriate on the saree. If you have a wider tummy, tie the saree near above belly button to make it look slim. If you have gift of flat tummy, then tie the saree slightly below the belly button.
- Making broad pleats:
Making pleats is an art and if you do not make pleats properly, then there is a risk of saree coming out. Pleats enhance your entire look, so more pleats you make, it make your saree more beautiful.
- Pallu tip:
Either a very short or a very high pallu will spoil the look of your saree. The length of the pallu should be sufficient. The pallu of your saree should never completely cover the blouse.
